You've cut strips that hold up ridiculously well and you want to peel the window film off while you're tugging. You really need to cut through 100% of the cut part for it to come loose. It is also very difficult to separate the protective film from the foil. I suggest you take a window scraper and use it to smooth out the bubbles as you go. It was very helpful. I had one with a thick but very short (so stiff) elastic that worked well. Be careful not to pull too hard during installation as you may slide the film off the edges unnoticed.
