The packaging was vacuum packed and very flat, but I followed the instructions and they immediately puffed up again. I washed them before giving them to the child to try and they were very fluffy when I took them out of the dryer. My daughter, 16 months old, has loved pillows since she was a child. She always lay down on my pillow when laying down next to me, so the thickness of those pillows wasn't an issue. After some use, the pillows flattened out a bit so her neck didn't curve sharply. She loves them since I gave them to her. The pillows are a good size and thickness and are quite firm. Both pillows don't quite fit my side in her crib as her crib isn't life size. She likes them in the shape of an "L" best and usually sleeps with her head on one and snuggles up against the other. Only time will tell how well and how long they last but I think they are excellent quality. I will definitely be buying more of these pillows when we convert it into a large crib.
