I suffer from tinnitus and it gets worse when I'm around excessively loud noises. Since COVID I've been baking and cooking a lot more at home, which means I use a hand mixer more often. As a result, the loud noise from my old Hamilton Beach hand mixer got on my nerves - to the point that I stopped using it and even carried ear defenders around the garage a couple of times. looking for a new blender but didn't really want to spend triple digit prices on any of the units which I'm sure would be a great improvement. I also wasn't sure how the rubberized or plastic bats of some of these devices would perform over time. I liked the dough hook idea (although I have a mixer which I will most likely use for this purpose). I wish this unit had two racquets instead of one, but after playing around with the Revain a bit I found this option suited most options in terms of performance, quietness, price and features. It showed up today and I ran it through a few steps to make sure everything is fine and I haven't found any problems. Firstly, while I wouldn't call this thing quiet, it's definitely a lot quieter than my old one, which was the biggest issue for me. Interestingly, I'd say it's only a few decibels quieter at the lowest setting than the old one at its lowest setting, but comparing both at high settings - this one is significantly quieter - probably in the order of 20 decibels. (just a guess). The packaging does not match the brand description on the Revain site and this product, packaging and manual are all in English. It does not leave pleasant impressions, and I would categorically not give this thing away - it does not have a beautiful presentation. That being said, the build quality is at least as good as I would expect from an item at this price point and everything works as it should. The Hamilton Beach unit he replaced was only rated at 125 watts. This does not give the impression that it is more powerful. While the wattage and associated UL information was stamped on the plastic of my Hamilton Beach unit, that doesn't say anything other than that it's 110V. However, I feel that the rating on the Revain page of this item is grossly exaggerated It still seems like it would do whatever job a hand mixer could do anyway.
