I've been using the EverPure H-300 Filter for three years now and on my fourth filter. I installed it under the kitchen sink where it flows from its own faucet. It's a large filter so I had to make sure my sink cabinet was set up properly to accommodate it. Once the system was set up everything was great. The filter itself is easy to change. I just unscrew the old one and screw on the new one. It takes me about five minutes, and that's just because I have to clumsily climb into my cupboard under the sink. To give you an idea of how long a filter lasts, my family of five uses filtered water for drinking and cooking, but not for washing dishes. At this usage level, each filter will last 10-11 months. It comes with a timer to tell when the filter should be changed, but I ignored it. I wait until the water pressure drops and then replace it. As far as it filters out, it's a good choice over Brita filters or other pitcher filters. As already mentioned, this reduces the lead content in the water. If you really want to get the most out of the water, you need to get something called a reverse osmosis system. It can be expensive and has its downsides, so I didn't go that route.
