Why they get worse every time

I loved this system when I first got it in 2007 and for many years after that. However, this cartridge and the previous three were terrible. They don't even last 5 months where they used to last 11 months and this was the worst. It's been running for less than a month and is already running slow, and this week it started spewing out carbon particles. The water flows normally, your glass is half full and then the water suddenly turns black. Very disappointed with the quality and I have no right…

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • Hard to remember but

Recent frustrations with the H300

I've been using them since the late 80's. Normally no problem. The last two, however, were completely unsatisfactory. It started about 2 months ago when I replaced the "almost" old one. The new one was initially very, very economical in consumption. I suffered from this for about a month, changing and the same. Also, the black ring was extremely difficult to remove and replace. Everpure's solution was to replace the "outdated" faucet with a new one - another $60. Having spent about $150…

  • Free for educational purposes

Have your Teflon tape ready!

I have been using these for a number of years. I've noticed a drop in quality over the last year. I used to be able to easily get a new filter and put it in. Now the filters always flow. I've seen other complaints about this. This is easily fixed with teflon tape, but the instructions don't state the need for teflon tape, and older versions never required it. None of them have ever worked for me. The last one I just received had red liquid in the indicator area (fortunately it didn't spill…

It gets worse every year

Everpure has become a typical marketing company. These filters are available from Revain for the H-300 filtration system: EV9270-70, EV9270-71, EV9270-72, EV9270-76, EV9611-16, EV927441, EV927075. There may be more, but I got tired after seeing 3 H-300 filters. How long do filters last? When I started buying Everpure about 20 years ago, 2 years was well documented. Presale information is not available today. However, once you purchase the product, you will find that the filters only last 11…

Pros
  • Improved with KDF to prevent debris that can damage equipment
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Convenient and Effective Filter

I've been using the EverPure H-300 Filter for three years now and on my fourth filter. I installed it under the kitchen sink where it flows from its own faucet. It's a large filter so I had to make sure my sink cabinet was set up properly to accommodate it. Once the system was set up everything was great. The filter itself is easy to change. I just unscrew the old one and screw on the new one. It takes me about five minutes, and that's just because I have to clumsily climb into my cupboard…

Pros
  • Reduces Lead, Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOCs), Dirt, Haze, Mold and Algae
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

Not worth the money

When I moved into my house I had an Everpure filter connected to the fridge plumbing. So I kept using this filter until I realized there were cheaper generics that worked just as well. After years of using generics I've decided to go back to the original way of thinking, according to the description, that it would cost less in the long run due to the longevity of this filter. Boy was I wrong! Generics lasted 6 months. The H300, which was supposed to last a year, sold out in about 3 months. I…
