This is my 5th purchase of DVD drives of different brands. All 4 other drives had problems right away and one didn't even work when it was new. I've put this Hitachi to a pretty good test and it hasn't failed in any function and for the first time (of 5 purchases - 4 returns) it makes and burns CDs to play in my car - great. You don't even have to spend much more to get this Hitachi quality. He looks very beautiful, very thin, very quiet and understands my voice. I use this device on my home desktop and windows laptop. This Hitachi gets 5 rave stars and I highly recommend it before considering other cheaper models.
