The projector is pretty bright for what it's supposed to be. The room doesn't have to be pitch black, which is a plus. Of course, the darker the room, the better the picture with such projectors. I found the fan to be quite noisy, but that may be because my other projector is smaller and fairly quiet. If you're sitting next to or next to a real projector, the audio is a bit annoying unless you use a volume that's too high to drown it out. It's very disappointing that the remote control doesn't work unless you point it directly at the projector, which is an inconvenience. I had no idea that remote controlled devices were still made this way in the 21st century. The Fire Stick and other USB streaming devices connected to it work effortlessly, and I don't have to point the remotes behind me at where I have the projector, I have to do it with the projector's remote. I was able to easily mirror my iPhone to the projector.
