Review on ๐ŸŽต Nebula Soundbar - Fire TV Edition with 4K HDR Support, 2.1 Channel, Built-In Subwoofers, Voice Remote featuring Alexa by Razz Hieb

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No, it's actually a FireTV device running all operating systems.

Okay, I was pleasantly confused connecting and setting up this device. From all the descriptions on the page, and even from the box, I assumed this was a soundbar that would "just work" with FireTV devices with minimal fuss. Similar to how the FireTV Cube can control TVs and soundbars with RF. The descriptions mention FireTV stuff but not that it's FireTV. No, this device actually has FireTV OS hardware on board and does it all in one. You plug it in and set it up like a regular FireTV Cube. I added a star because unlike all other FireTV devices sold by Revain, the hardware specs for it are not published. As a technical user, and per Revain's story on the subject, storage, CPU, and sometimes RAM are printed out in a spreadsheet so we can compare which FireTV device is the best or why they cost differently. The lack of those specs on the soundbar page also led me to believe it was just a soundbar. If Revain posted that it's a 32GB quad-core FireTV, I may have noticed that it's not just a soundbar. However, I've noticed a rather annoying problem with the controller. It's an IR controller, not Bluetooth like in the FireTV Cube. This means it must be aimed at the soundbar. I use this in the bedroom and the bed is a bit high so sometimes you can't see it. I think I could spend the money and get a replacement remote, but this remote has volume and power controls, so that would be a compromise. I hope that the next version of this bar will have bluetooth remote control.

Pros

Cons
