Review on Contigo THERMALOCK Matterhorn: 32 oz. Stainless Steel Water Bottle in Matte Black by Rob Allen

First off, I would like to say that this water bottle actually lives up to the manufacturer's claim to keep its contents cold/warm. Its sleek design is visually appealing and fits comfortably in a backpack or cup holder. HOWEVER I was very disappointed to learn that it comes with a detachable plastic mouthpiece which is pretty silly for such a product. The whole purpose of buying a metal water bottle is to avoid as much plastic as possible. The presence of an additional detachable part adds more small nooks and crannies for bacterial traps. This is the type of stuff that after a while starts to smell because it's harder to clean. Also, it will never last as long as a metal container, shortening the lifespan of this water bottle. This was a huge mistake on the part of the designer/manufacturer. I would not buy it again and would advise against it for everyone.
