Simple design is great for hard wall hangers

Simple design is great for hard wall hangers. The execution is extremely poor to the point of thoughtlessness. Hangers are made of hard but not durable plastic. Hit the hook part with a hammer and there is a good chance the hook will break. The bottom pin and hook aren't far apart, so you can break the hook with a light hammer hit from below. If this is not enough, then the lower spike is near the hook. Rotating the triangular cleats 180 degrees or 4 cleats 45 degrees gives you more space between the cleats and the hook. This reduces the chance of the hammer hitting the hook and breaking it. You can use softer and more flexible plastic. Or you can use a more durable hard plastic. The hook must not break when struck with a hammer. Depending on the plastic used, the loss of holding power can be minimal. It seems that the Cincinnati, Ohio manufacturer HILLMAN GROUP(=OOK) was interested in saving a few pennies by using cheap hard plastic that breaks easily. They essentially cheated the consumer out of pennies out of plastic. If you want to use these hangers, buy a few extra units. There is a very high chance of breaking the hook, especially on small devices. Buying additional blocks due to poor design is a "rip off". I would return the defective units if I thought the sellers would complain to the manufacturer. I would do this to emphasize this, although it's not worth the effort for cost reasons.
