First of all, this is a great ceiling fan: 6 reversible blades, silent even at high speed, beautiful appearance, dimmable backlight, in short everything I was looking for but do not buy this fan if you install it . A point represents an inclined surface. I bought 3 and 2 of my seats had sloping ceilings. My husband has installed over 50 ceiling fans in various homes over the years and not a single sloping ceiling has ever been a problem. Usually a yoke that attaches to the ceiling along with a ball joint at the end of the bottom bar allows the fans to rotate and hang vertically, but someone poked fun at this model. When the ceiling is sloped and the ball joint is hung, the top of the ball joint assembly will hit the remote control receiver to be mounted above, preventing proper hanging. It had to use a dual fan build which I replaced, although the finish was different, to get it working or I would have had to send it back. Yes, I liked them so much I used my old fan parts so I didn't have to send them back. Bad design for a sloping ceiling. And all 3 batteries of the remote control were dead. And not your option if you need to store and replace hardware. These babies were special batteries for $5.50 each, so I spent another $17.82 just to make them work. Yes, I really liked her. It's embarrassing to give them 3 stars otherwise it would have been 5.
