I've been using this projector stand for about 1.5 months now on a Manfrotto stand (using the stand manufacturer's included thread adapter) which is quite a stable installation. There are two caveats to using this tray; 1 - If you only have a rubber band to hold the projector in place during adjustment, the projector can fall to the floor (fortunately miraculously without damaging the projector) and 2 - some sort of bubble level or protractor after left and mount right sides would help with correct linear alignment of the image / a feature users appreciate before actually turning on their projectors / reduce the tablet's work in guessing the positioning.
