Bought these shoes for a ski trip in the White Mountains. They cost a lot less than the equivalent REI product, so I decided to give them a try. They're pretty durable: they were about teens for the temperature, and the elastic part is still usable and not brittle. The lugs are about 1/2" high and provide good traction on ice. I weigh 235 pounds and stomp on rock, ice, snow and pavement. I expected them to bend and wear out, but they survived without damage. good on my size 12 boot and also worked well on my ski boot when we had to go downhill and the track was too narrow to ski good purchase they won't replace real cats but for the price and limited use i'm for they have, they are perfect.
