compatible with Windows 10. There is absolutely nothing the user can do to make it work with Windows 10. The software exists, but obviously don't buy it to make it available to your customers. It took 2 months for tech support to answer my question in their "support system". Second, this product is not a true print server at all, but a shared USB device that uses simplified third-party software to make the printer "available" to one user at a time. The user must disconnect from the printer in…

Works as advertised. Installation is a little tricky

This is the second TRENDnet print server that I have purchased and the third that I own. I bought TRENDnet again thinking it would be easier for me to set up the system than trying to buy another brand. I tried to set up the print server by following the standard setup wizard installation instructions, but it didn't work. Eventually I broke down and had to call TRENDnet customer service. As soon as I spoke to the technician, they instructed me to connect him and my computer to my WiFi router…

This is amazing stuff!

The main complaint from other users is that this isn't a real print server, more like a USB network extender. It's actually exactly what I need and allows me to use a printer that doesn't support network scanning to do just that as it actually expands the possibilities of USB. And it's not just about printers! I also tried this with a USB keyboard and mouse and it worked great. Basically, you can add any USB device to a wired or wireless network without having to plug it in every time. Also…

The device is great! instructions are missing. Still recommended

We have 3 computers and two printers (HP 8600 HP 6122 USB Wireless) in the house and it's really nice to be able to access them all from anywhere. The response is as quick as a direct connection. The installation was more difficult than it should have been as I kept getting the message that the installation was incomplete and I had to reinstall it. After installing/uninstalling/reinstalling everything turned out to have worked the first time if the install and reboot instructions before opening

I would like to give a better rating, but

I would like to give a better rating, but. There are no physical issues with the device. Setup and connection are quick and easy. Unfortunately, there are software problems that I still have to solve. I wanted to set up an HP Photosmart C4100 series all-in-one printer as a network resource. I have two desktops and two laptops that I want to use for a printer. At this point, a desktop can access the printer using the manual or automatic connection features. The rest seems to connect to the…

  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Follow the installation instructions for an HP Pavilion with Win7, but the instructions were not compatible with the Airport Extreme router. On a (Late 2008) MacBook Pro with Mavericks, went into Airport Utility, selected the Base Station from the top menu bar and selected "Add WPS Printer". In the Add WPS Printer window, select First Try and click the WPS button on the Trendnet print server. Airport Extreme recognized the device and automatically added it to my wireless client's MAC address…

Works but has limitations

Calling this device a "print server" does not meet customer expectations. I've installed and configured many print servers and it's not exactly the same. Although you can select DHCP or a static IP address, this does not make the device available for printing. The client utility must be installed on each computer that will have access to the device. Others say that only one client can be "connected" to the device (via a utility) at a time. I haven't tried it, but that would be a big problem for

Pros
  • Good build
Cons
  • Security

I purchased this product because I needed to move my router to a location where I could not establish a wired Ethernet connection to my HP LaserJet printer. The LJ has built-in Ethernet and easily connects to my PC and Mac for network printing. What I didn't expect from the TRENDnet device is that it's not a network print server. Instead, it simulates unplugging and plugging the USB cable from different computers to the printer. IOW, only one computer can connect to the printer at a time…
