Review on Maverick Professional Digital Triple Line Timer by Rebecca Jones

3 different timers compared

I bought 3 different multitimers: OXO Good Grips Triple Timer, Countdown Stopwatch with Timer and Maverick Professional Digital 3 Line Timer. My choice of three was OXO Good Grips. What I liked about OXO is that: 1) It uses AAA batteries. I have them laying around so it's easier for me. The other two timers used watch batteries. 2) Was more intuitive to use. This is mainly because you use the start/stop button to start and stop the selected timer. The start/stop button on the other two timers would start or stop all 3 timers, which made no sense for my application. 3) The time is entered by entering numbers, like entering 1-3-0-0-0 to set 1 hour. , 30 minutes instead of repeatedly pressing the hour or minute button to get the correct value. Here's what I didn't like about OXO: - the use of fingers. Based on the picture you would expect this to be possible. However, if you try to press the Start/Stop or Clear/Memory buttons with a finger, the device tips over (or rolls over). The timer selection buttons aren't very well placed either. They are on the side, so you have to "squeeze" the device with your thumb and forefinger. If you're looking for a timer that you can just press with one finger, this timer isn't for you. Notes on all three devices: 1) All three devices had a timer memory: you can press the buttons to remember the last time. Parameter. This saves a lot of time when reusing with the same time limit. 2) All 3 timers are visible on all three devices at the same time. 3) Maverick was very loud. The countdown was very quiet. OXO was somewhere in between. 4) Both Maverick and Countdown had magnets that stuck to metal surfaces. 5) Thought all 3 were reasonably priced and "felt" about the same quality, although the buttons on the OXO were harder to press. give them a slightly more "rugged" look - we'll have to see how they hold up.
