Review on Habitrail 62635 OVO Club Trainer by Kyle Beaner

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good size, terrible design.

I gave it two stars because it fits our Syrian hamsters and fits outside the cage. This is the only one we've found to work. However, it was nothing more than pain. We have two of these wheels for two hamsters. They took some maneuvering to get to our Critter Trail cages, but that's not the wheels' fault. They are mostly compatible because the connectors are the right size. One of the wheels has an issue with the two wheel halves separating leaving a gap. This caused the rubber band that went on the outside to hold the halves together (can't describe this very well, sorry) partially going into the wheel where the hamster bit it in half. Without the elastic, any food, bedding, etc. that the hamster brings (she LOVES the wheel and spends most of her time on it) will fly out when she runs. And flies all over the room. Also, there's a gap where the moving part of the wheel attaches to the "foyer" and that's where everything comes out. My husband was smart enough to cut this rubber band into chunks and put it in the grooves between the two halves of the wheel and it holds most of the dirt but not all until the halves separate again and the rubber pieces are gone The last rolling part of the wheel began to fall off completely, falling to the ground and causing the hamster to run away. Luckily she wasn't injured and was held in place with duct tape. Looks like we shouldn't do that. The second wheel had fewer but similar problems. I think it's partly because the hamster is smaller. It comes with a trash can, but it's completely useless. Long story short they were the right size for us but our floor is a total mess! And we have to worry about our hamsters getting hurt because of the design flaws in this exercise wheel. I really can't recommend this bike.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Old model
