Works like a mechanical switch as others have said.

When you switch from PC to PC, it works as if you unplug the monitor, keyboard and mouse and then plug the monitor, keyboard and mouse back in. If you have a second screen, e.g. B. If you use this switch with a laptop and connect a larger monitor to the switch, when you switch to another computer, everything on the KVM monitor will move back to the laptop's screen. It's pretty annoying. I can't say I've ever used a KVM that behaves like this, to me it's more of a switch than true KVM. Every time you change/change computers you have to wait for a "new" computer. Re-detect monitor, keyboard and mouse so switching computers is not a quick process. Also note that the computer you switched from now "sees" that the monitor, keyboard, and mouse are disabled. I'm currently using all Win2k10 machines so this hasn't really been a problem for me yet, but I'll update this review when I get my old Linux machine online. Will I buy this switch again? Well I really don't like the issue of everything on my switched screen being pushed to my laptop screen. Every time I switch back to my laptop I have to move everything from the laptop screen back to the switched screen, it's really painful and quite annoying. The older DB-15 VGA/1080p switches I've used with my laptops in the past didn't have the same problem.
