Review on Continental ContiSportContact 5 215/50 R17 95W summer by Stanislaw Szczesny ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

The tires on my Lexus RX are ContiSportContact 5 235/55 R18. Tire selection was a lengthy process for me. Bridgestone Dualer is the gold standard of the category; it's nearly perfect for crossovers, but the price is too costly in my opinion. Due to the rarity of driving in mud and off-road conditions and the prevalence of asphalt, I settled on purchasing Konti highway tires. First thoughts are that it has great traction and can safely be used for a wide range of maneuvers on both dry and wet pavement. While the noise level is nearly undetectable on decent asphalt, the rubber appears to be rather harsh on lousy pavement. I once had the opportunity to drive in mud for about 1.5 car lengths, and I hardly drove it because the car slid from side to side like a clock and there was almost no clutch, despite the fact that the Lexus does not slip in principle due to electronic regulation of the drives. For mud, a dualer was required, although this cannot be labeled a shortage of rubber because its intended usage is different.

Pros
  • Very quiet, with a solid grip on the road; in fact, it often feels like it's better in wet conditions than it is on dry.
Cons
  • They appear to be nonexistent.
