Everything works great except the microphone

I bought it to stream. The camera works after downloading some software. The light works fine. The microphone doesn't work at all. It comes with an XLR to USB cable suitable for a microphone that doesn't require as much power. This mic draws too much power for the cable that came with it, so the computer doesn't even recognize it when it's plugged in.
