I've just started using it so my rating is based on first impressions. I have a question as to why I didn't purchase this mount a long time ago. I have a Manfrotto 290 tripod and two extra heads. The original is the 804RC2, a simple pan/tilt head that I used for photography. After meeting professional wedding photographers that I know and seeing how they use the ball head, it got me thinking. Also, I felt that the default pan had too many limitations, including the ability to capture the moon (no pun intended). After thoroughly reviewing the Manfrotto heads available, I settled on the XPRO. I couldn't be happier. All the other 5 star reviews I've read convinced me that the couple of bucks more for this head was worth it. to gently aim at the subject and keep the camera in place. I have tried many different lenses including my 100-400mm which I mounted the lens on my head and found the balance to be perfect allowing me to easily capture multiple super moon shots. I've also tried photographing night lights with great results. The two additional mounts are a big plus. I now have one on my camera and one on both of my telephoto lenses. Now that I finally have this head, I look forward to using my tripod more often.
