I actually like the shampoo version but it's also incredibly dry so I wasn't surprised it was dry too but oh my god it's not moisturizing at all. There are better ones in this price range. I always use whatever I buy, but this is one of those rare occasions when I won't use it because I'm afraid my hair will break or break from being so dry. My experience with these types of shampoos and conditioners is that if you can spend a few bucks more and buy Amika Brass or Pravana and they will do what they are supposed to and not dry out your hair, it's worth it.
