Review on Maretron Cm CF 4 Multiport Male Homerun by Andres Mayes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Before you buy, make sure you understand what it does.

Works as advertised. Excellent for running a home run (or "hub") over a drop cable from your network backbone without having to add a backbone and connect to your new setup. My NMEA line didn't go through the engine room. I added some NMEA powered engine sensors and used this product to relay the information to the backbone of the network. Maretron NMEA products are pretty solid and this one is no different. I like plugs because they have a ratcheting click when tightened. This will give you a good seal. You must ensure that your network has adequate power near where you connect it to the reset port. Network power balancing can be tricky when you add this to the mix. I thought judging by the picture that next to each port there are LEDs showing activity, but there aren't any. The small white stripes are used for marking. They're too small to be effective, and they come in a pouch that you have to zip up. What could be poa due to their size. The price is equivalent to buying individual components and cables to achieve the same thing. The value is displayed in a simpler and cleaner installation.

Pros
  • Requires purchase of additional reversible brace to connect back to torso
Cons
  • Difficult to remember but it was
