3 time owner of this bottle so lots to say SUMMARY: MADE IN THE USA! Support companies we know pay fairly and create jobs in the US! First off, this bottle is perfect for outdoors! The wide neck makes it easy to fill from a mountain stream or lake, and the large size = less filling = less hassle with iodine tablets. The bottle's shape makes it easy to fit in a backpack pocket, and it suits many backpacking and camping trips as the durable plastic will last for years outdoors. If you want it for everyday use it will work fine BUT CAN BE IMPROVED by my suggestions below. ON RECOMMENDATIONS that make them the PERFECT bottle for outdoor and everyday use: LONG REVIEW: I've LOVED Nalgene products since I've loved the outdoors (all my life) and this bottle is the only one! I bought one of these a long time ago and had the same problem as many of the reviewers. I dropped it once when it was waist full and it broke on the ground. I was so sad but Nalgene can't go wrong (and I really don't feel like it was Nalgene's fault because it's a big heavy bottle, when the plastic is full it tends to be quite strong, and there is a material science limit in manufacturing) . You can buy a bottle for as little as $10-12) so I ordered another one. Took it to Nepal to trek to Everest Base Camp, took it all over the west coast for a few years and lost it. I was devastated. Just got this bottle back and decided to go the extra mile this time! I've paired it with: - A RUBBER BOOT (so it doesn't get scratched or broken if I drop it. Mine doesn't fit perfectly but I'm sure you can find one that does and mine works well enough and does , which it should avoid bending the tip of the bottle or anything if you don't mind an imprecise fit) - STRAW HOOD (makes it more practical for everyday use and makes drinking easier when you're on the go) - PARACORD HANDLE (it's a big bottle and can be heavy and uncomfortable to carry when full.Also the plastic ring on the handle has an opening where I can attach a round key fob which in turn has a tile sticker on it (more on that later) )) - TILE STICKER TRACKER (not necessary at all but I tend to lose things and my Nalgene water bottle has great sentimental value to me as I take it with me EVERY DAY and also use it on hikes, camping trips... lying, etc.) e. I also put stickers of all the places I go so I really don't want to lose it. I attached the tile decal to the back of my college's round keychain and attached the keychain to the paracord pen.) These additions make it AMAZING for everyday use. I should be able to keep and use this bottle for years and eventually dispose of it along with my other Nalgen bottles which carry many memories and are too precious to wear and lose every day. It's a simple, timeless bottle that will last you a lifetime if you so choose, and won't dent if you think of it as just another tripod of a Chinese-made water bottle. I know cough hydro*lask.
