We are getting ready to go to Alaska for 2 weeks and take lots and lots of photos. I needed a way to control them on my DSLR, iPad, and Android phone without having to use lots of different adapters. The Suntrsi-Drive Micro SD adapter is ideal for this purpose. It's compact and works seamlessly on ALL of my devices. For my iPad, I use the recommended X-Drive app and file manager from the Play Store. I can move photos from my DSLR's SD card to my iPad or phone, or vice versa.
