If you look at the attached picture this is what the VTOP device captured in Audacity. It may look good, but only one RCA cable was connected to the source. If it were recording true stereo, you would only see the ripples from one side. This means that VTOP captures both channels and then combines them into a single mono audio stream and plays them back on both channels. When you wear headphones, both ears hear the same thing, and it's not stereo. I thought for a moment maybe there's something weird with my hardware or maybe it's a possible malfunction. So I was looking for feedback on VTOP. Revain doesn't allow non-Revain links, but if you search "Tested V.TOP USB Audio Capture Tool" you'll find a YouTube video showing audio capture through the phone's headphone jack. From about 1:30 you can see a live recording from Audacity with identical waveforms to mine. The problem is that the device fails to do what it promises. It's like buying a car and realizing it only turns left. Useless. If this were a fair world, Revane would have crossed them off the list and I could light them up before sending them back as a blackened piece of e-waste. Although maybe fire is too good for that. Returned with extreme prejudice.
