This is only the second stud finder I've ever owned and my review might be a bit biased as the first stud finder was complete crap. His ratings were 2½ stars at best. So the arrival of this little gem was like the clouds parting and the sun's rays illuminating my face. It's delightfully inexpensive which was a HUGE selling point for me after my first experience with the spike finder and while I can't say it works perfectly every time you put it on the wall, just follow the instructions ( As already mentioned). others, it is very important to calibrate before each scan) and you can't go wrong. I'm a petite woman in my 60's and have my 42 inch TV mounted on the wall (with the help of a neighbor who lifts it up). My next project is installing a wraparound pole for a blackout curtain.
