I leave the space I ragged but this stud finder never worked as advertised. It was in the trash shortly after first use due to its inability to locate the structure's position behind the drywall.

I used this to hang my son's TV on the wall. The instructions were clear. The scanner found the tip easily and indicated the center of the tip. I managed to screw in 2 screws that fit perfectly to mount the TV.

We got this because we needed to find a bolt to hang a heavy picture frame. This thing is handy because not only does it detect AC power cords, it also detects metal. The tools are very easy to use and the instructions are very detailed. I was able to run it with a regular Amazon 9V battery. (I had one that didn't include a battery).

Sorry, this article does not work. I ordered the first. Insert a new 9V battery. Did not work. Revain sent me a replacement promptly. Same procedure. I made sure the battery is fresh, I checked that it is 9V normal. No fun. This didn't work either. Maybe just a bad run of the Spikefinder? Luckily, Revain refunded my purchase price. Thanks Revin

Works well on the well after calibration. can scan hairpins of different widths. The LCD scanner is quiet. it shows the hairpin and the middle. make a beep to ensure a clear signal. Helps with DIY projects that might be difficult without a scanner. worked well for hanging my speaker on the wall. Make sure you calibrate first before each time. Good to have on hand. my son loves to play with it (little helper).

For the people who say just follow the guide, either you have completely different guides or your device is completely different than mine. I followed the calibration instructions verbatim. Bought this model based on good reviews. I tested it on a known hairpin and it seemed to work fine. Next I wanted to drill holes for the TV wall mount. Not worth it. Save yourself a ton of headaches and either spend a few extra bucks to buy a well-known brand from the hardware store, or just use an awl. The good thing is that if you run it back and forth along the wall 4 or 5 times, you'll know with a pretty high degree of certainty where the centerline of the spike is.
