I bought the X300 5TB for $129.99 so lots of storage for that price. It's as fast as any 7200RPM mechanical drive with 128MB cache but obviously can't keep up with my 4 SSDs. I needed more space so I replaced my 1TB Seagate Barracuda which I had never heard of in my entire life. My entire computer is pretty quiet apart from fan noise while gaming or video editing. Now this drive makes a noise when writing that I can only describe as an 80's printer (though not as loud). I remember my mechanical drives making this noise, maybe in the 90's. It's like a random low frequency so-so. You will mostly hear this when copying large files. So if you just need cheap storage, go for it. If you have a studio, maybe skip this one.
