This is an amazing product. I thought I wanted a brush until I thought about how this device could work. In our holiday home, the chimney has not been cleaned in spring and autumn for 4 years. Over 20 feet from furnace to chimney cap, with a steep roof so I didn't want to climb the roof. Opening the chimney about 6 feet above the stove I noticed a flaky buildup of creosote perfect for starting a fire. It was about 17 feet from where I dismantled the pipe to the chimney cap on the roof, so 18 foot poles was ideal. I used a 2 gallon plastic jug to make an adapter on the end of the pipe and glue it to the pipe. As I turned the spinning whisk in the tube, I heard the particles fall and escape into the vacuum. Some got out around the pole, but with a tarp on the ground, it was controlled. Everything went very well and the whistle was shiny when we were done. I pulled out the down tube to clean it and took some before and after shots. I also took a photo of the 17ft pipe after cleaning it. This product works perfectly, but I have an additional caveat. After everyone gathered again, the woman noticed black dust on the carpet and tables. Apparently the filter in the vacuum cleaner wasn't fine enough to catch all the very fine soot and it was on everything. It's not the appliance's fault and next time I'll put a longer hose on the vacuum and take it outside. The pipe is clean from top to bottom and I've never had to climb onto the roof. I can't say enough good things about this product and I regret not inventing it. My only request to the manufacturer is to provide additional poles if the pipe is longer than 18 feet.
