Review on Gabriel 43048 Rear Load Carrier, Set of 2 by Frankye Sherman

****Original review, update below****Yes I was very skeptical since I wrote the first review. In fact, I was skeptical about the need to be the FIRST to write a review. If you're like me on Amazon, reviews have a huge impact on what you buy and how you order. I took a risk I thought about stock shocks and a premium membership. If I don't like them after a few days, take them off and send them back. Installation was fairly easy, except that the forearm could be slid between the axle and the tear line. tried to break the screws upside down. Just a note: I'm not a mechanic. Raise the frame and let the leaf springs rest, then disconnect and install the dampers. Don't be like me and think you have to compress the shocks to get them in. I did it on one side before the lights went out. Put it on stands and let the shock absorbers release to their full length. Secondly. The coil is not that thick. It didn't bother me too much, but the body that the coil sits on is very hard plastic. THEREFORE 4 STARS. I'm not ready to give a five until I understand that this piece is not going to fall off. ****UPDATE BELOW****** The stock made the ride a ton smoother and handled corners, bumps and highway speeds with no issues. When I was satisfied, I asked my brother to hop in the back of the truck and check the payload. A lot has improved. I definitely won't go over the manufacturer's recommended weight, but carrying a normal weight seemed a lot less sagging to me. I'll update soon when I determine the durability of this case. That being said, if you're looking for something relatively cheap and valuable, I'd recommend this. **** UPDATE 2/2016 ****** So, I've moved and moved into a house twice during this time. However, my pick-up worked well above average during this time. These shocks lasted for everything I used them for. The plastic housing is very practical and designed for heavy use. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great shock absorber for their car and am increasing my rating from 4 to 5 stars.
