Review on ๐Ÿ”ง The Original Cabinet Hardware Jig: Fast and Accurate Installation for Door and Drawer Front Knobs, Pulls, and Handles - True Position Tools TP-1934 by Trey Gilbert

Wouldn't buy again.

I am not a contractor or carpenter, but I rent a few items and have installed cabinets and handles dozens of times. Decided to buy this for my new home to install 80 handles. Was very impressed with the reviews and initially when the TP135 arrived. From that moment on, however, things went downhill. I agree with others that the included drill is ridiculous and they would be better off just not including it. I ended up ruining 2 drawer fronts. and 1 closet door that will cost me $300 to replace. On the first drawer, the horizontal guide has come loose and moved. I twisted it as hard as I could (without using a vice that would damage the soft metal). After tightening the setscrews after each drawer (which shouldn't be necessary), I was completely unfamiliar with this very expensive tool. This, of course, slowed down the process. I ended up sealing the horizontal guides so they wouldn't move anymore. It's a $300 tool. Door 1 was destroyed when the vertical clamp came loose - I guess I should have found out so I sealed it as well. Drawer 2 was damaged as the instrument's metal was somehow scratched (metal is very soft) and scratched the front of the case. Due to the minimal vibration of my Ryobi cordless drill, the fastening screws literally fell out. I installed all the pens on the same day but won't be using this anymore and prefer the much cheaper option which gives better results.
