Works in iMac with HP LaserJet 4

Update 23 August 2012: When OSX 10.7 came out the cable stopped working with my LaserJet and I ended up having to donate the printer and cable to someone who uses Windows. I would no longer recommend using it on a newer OSX system. First Review: My computer recently died and I replaced it with a new iMac running Mac OSX 10.5. I love my LaserJet 4 because it's so reliable and cheap to run that I didn't want to rely solely on my inkjet printer. I chose this cable because it had good reviews. I took a chance using it on a Mac as it wasn't listed as Mac support but it worked great. Installation was easy. Note that this cable does not connect directly to the printer, but rather to the computer end of an existing parallel cable. I'm okay with this because it gave me more length. When I plugged it in, the Mac recognized it as a new generic driver printer. All I had to do was replace the driver with the HP LaserJet 4 driver and it worked fine. I first tried plugging it into a USB hub but it only worked for a few sheets and then it gave me a message that the printer was disabled. . I then plugged it directly into the Mac and it's been working great ever since. I also have another Mac and PC on the network and they recognize the printer and print just fine.
