discovered this item many years ago. I use this set daily. It's been a lot easier for over cleaning the floor with it for a year. I am always surprised how many things get into our kitchen and how many things fall down. It seems like there is always something to clean. The broom works well on the kitchen carpet. Because I like this process didn't like it very much i pretended i didn't see the mess and cleaned it up the next day.if it wasn't that bad i cleaned it up right away.i clean up any mess right away.The set isn't perfect UPDATE : Instead of cutting off the splayed bristles, I tightly taped them over the bristles with tape and solved the problem.The broom still sweeps great and the splayed bristles ten are now held down instead of a problem. If you try this, you'll probably need to use enough tape to make it stick to itself. -- 2nd update: the masking tape doesn't stick very well so I'll try something else, maybe something different. Type of ribbon, tightly tied lace or wide ribbon. The shovel is designed with the handle connected to the shovel to stand on its own. No need to hold a dust pan while sweeping the dirt. It's a nice feature, but it works so well that it connects when the handle gets close enough. t, I put my foot on the shovel and pull the handle out. I love that I can store the broom with the tray. It's huge. I can even sweep up large items if I want. The trash can is approximately 4 inches deep, nearly 7 inches high, and 11 1/2 inches wide. I don't have to bend down to use the shovel. My floor is cleaner because I enjoy using this set. It is easy to empty. Both items can be hung. The dustpan stands by itself. There are a few complaints about the broom.
