Review on πŸ“ž Renewed AT&T CL4940 Corded Phone: Answering System, Backlit Display - White by Ashley Stewart

Revainrating 3 out of 5

You may be buying a "refurbished device " without even knowing it.

I bought this unit as an "upgrade model" for an aging CL4939. The new unit arrived in a snowstorm over the weekend. (the sign on the door is closed until Monday). After opening the box on Monday, the parts appear to be there, but there are NO instructions. A fragile, very small 5 x 7 piece of paper that didn't have enough detail to remember how to program an earlier phone. 800 number does not answer after 5 p.m. no matter where it is; Called today, the box says "Refurbished" and no guarantee. You didn't make it. You can print out the manual (print both sides if you don't have much paper). I haven't taken the time to try and program this yet, but at least the manual was "free". The company representative said that they still produce this model of the phone, but they don't have a full manual, so it's recommended that you print it out yourself. I think the cost of this 'new' phone is a little higher than what I paid for full retail price in the phone department at the hardware store. 4 years ago. I hope the best with "NEW". The phone appears to be made in China, the box appears to have Spanish markings showing the AT&T logo in English. .
