Too long in 2007 VSTAR 650 Custom

This item did not fit in my 2007 VSTAR 650 Custom. Compared to the filter I removed, this filter housing is about .090 to .110 inches longer. This is measured from the two metal ends of the filter housing. The same applies when measuring from the ends of the black rubber O-rings. This prevents the filter cover from closing properly. I bought a factory filter from Yamaha.
