I have ordered it to be installed outside of our suburban area where we will be building. It goes over the sign "Private passage, no entry". This ad says indoors or outdoors, which I understand means it's outdoor gear. I see immediately. The lever of the bracket is made of fairly light plastic. After installation, do not hit it with anything. It looks like it will break easily. Also, it is painted in silver color. Everything is fine inside, but it won't be long. long out in the elements. #3 is what messes it up for me like nature does. The battery cover is at the top of the case and there is no type of gasket. It's made to leak. Batteries will corrode (or be flooded with water along with the rest of the electronics inside) in no time. I might (will) stick it on and hope it doesn't leak, but. #4 is good/bad, and that's panning. It picks up movement, moves forward and backward, and the LED lights up. The problem is that the camera moves too fast to look formal; moves back and forth rapidly about 4 or 5 times which (to me) looks wrong. The simulated wire that runs from the lens to the case can fall out if you don't actually insert it there, breaking it for an intruder. Glue better. My swing radius is around 40-50 degrees, which should be at least 70* if not 90 to make it look like it's actually tracking something. TO UPDATE. As I sat here trying to measure the actual range of motion, I heard something click inside and it stopped moving. The motor still runs, but something holding the motor to the base no longer seems to work. Like I said, if you're indoors, it might work. It looks really sitting still. But the high speed, tight radius, and repeated trips back and forth make it a toy. He returns to China. It looked like cheap junk (although it's realistic at rest), it is.
