There is something to like about this device. It's cute, which is good for something that's always prominently displayed on the counter. It's compact, so it doesn't take up much space. We use our toaster primarily to toast bagels and sometimes melt cheese on them, so I didn't need a big appliance or spend a lot of money on it. Another thing I liked is that it has dials instead of touchpads. My experience with touchpads on small home appliances is that the touchpads for the functions I use most often wear out first on the device, requiring the device to be replaced even though it is technically still functional. Also, they seem to load these (touchpad) devices with a lot of unnecessary and usually unused features. The dials feel like an old-school option to me that might be more practical on a toaster. I particularly liked the inclusion of an enamelled cooking plate. I will not cook on anything with a plastic (Teflon) coating. I like that the end of cycle alarm/notification is silent and the block itself is silent. Despite these charms, I had to send it back. When I received it, I found that the unit I received had a small but annoying flaw: the oven door didn't close properly. I couldn't find a way to keep the door closed. I closed it and it opened, about 1/4 inch apart. I searched but couldn't find a way to set the door to close. I decided to run the unit to see if I liked it to decide if I wanted a replacement. It heats up well, has a powerful effect. My toast was cooked before the end of the cycle and I found that I couldn't turn the toaster off until the timer expired other than by unplugging it. This was crucial. me that I didn't want a replacement. Being able to turn off a device, especially one that's getting hot, seems pretty easy. I loved so much about this toaster. If the door wasn't defective I could have kept it.
