Review on GIANDEL Inverter Control Display Outlets Accessories & Supplies by Mike Marks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great inverter, everything works including RV rooftop air conditioners, low standby power consumption

We switched to this inverter after testing several other Gandel inverters. The ultra stable pure sine wave output measured on my oscilloscope has a stable output at 120VAC RMS under various loads. It has a beautiful LED display that shows the current battery input voltage and output power in watts, as well as a remote on/off switch. What we particularly like is the ability to easily control anything and everything in our motorhome, including the rooftop air conditioner/heat pump. It also remains completely silent until you start a higher load (over 1500W), at which point the fan kicks in to cool the device. Standby current was measured at a surprisingly low 0.8 amps, while other inverters we tested typically draw around 2.5 to 3.5 amps in standby mode. This makes it efficient enough that we don't have to worry about turning it off after each use, so we usually leave it on all the time when we're camping. (We have 1280w solar power on a RV using LiFePo4 batteries). Low standby power, 91% efficiency (standard for most DC/AC converters), very quiet even under load and a relatively compact size make this inverter an excellent choice. for our 28ft RV and was a great upgrade for our old workhorse 17 year old Xantrex inverter. Just got back from another trip and the inverter worked perfectly and seems even more efficient than our old inverter when running heavy loads like a microwave/convection oven, induction cooker or air conditioner in heat mode (it got chilly overnight) . Also, we noticed that our 12 volt system does not dim (dimm) as the light stops dimming when a large load is connected to mains. Another pleasant surprise. We continue to give this inverter a full 5+ stars.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
