I've decided to upgrade my Google Wifi to Nest Wifi. For the first two weeks, my internet connection dropped at least 2-3 times a day. This has NEVER happened to me in the two years I've owned Google Wifi. I contacted Google support and they were actually "innocent" that it wasn't Nest Wifi, it was an ISP. They asked me to change the DNS in the advanced settings and call my ISP to send an update signal to the modem. Again, I NEVER had to set up my Google Wi-Fi or request a signal update from my ISP. I finally got it today after my internet went down twice while working on an important assignment. If you're thinking of replacing Google Wifi with Nest Wifi, DON'T DO IT. Keep using Google Wi-Fi. Google claims Nest Wifi has a stronger signal and better bandwidth. That is not true. Before switching to Nest Wifi, my Roku, which is about 50 feet from a hotspot and connecting over WiFi, had an average throughput of 42 Mbps. After switching from Google Wifi to Nest Wifi, my Roku averaged 23 Mbps throughput. I have since switched back to Google Wifi and am very glad I did. Again, stay away from this nightmarish product.
