Bought a pair of these for my two kids bikes. My daughter wanted one so I figured it would fit. My daughter is 6 and has a smaller bike. At first I zip-tied the crossbar to the frame, but that didn't feel good to me, so we compromised by moving it to the center of the handlebar and facing forward. This turned out to be a bad idea. We went on a family bike ride and when she hit a bump her 16 ounce water bottle fell out. There was just no tension. We slowly let her go and watch the beats until we got home, but the bottle kept calling. When she finally followed me, I heard the horrifying sound of an unmistakable motorcycle accident. Apparently the bottle had fallen out of the cage on the ground in front of her hoop, causing her to stop abruptly and fly over the handlebars. Apart from the shock, the lump on her chin and the scratches on her arms, she was fine. Of course she was wearing a helmet. So, lesson learned. DO NOT put this on bikes or use 16oz water bottles. I will get another cage for her bike like on my bike that can safely hold large and small water bottles. We have chosen not to use any of those water bottles. Cages for all bikes. If someone needs it I will send it to you if you pay the shipping.
