We are very pleased with our APEC 5 stage reverse osmosis system. Clean water has been within reach for a year. No more lugging around 5 gallon tanks or lugging overpriced boxes in your car. It's so simple you'll literally forget it's there! To be honest the water tastes as good as the day we installed it. Management requires replacement of Stages 1, 2 and 3 every 6-12 months. Waiting longer puts the most important part of the entire system at risk, the stage 4 reverse osmosis membrane. So after 12 months I was spending every 10 minutes replacing it. Instructions are included with the original documents, but if you lost them after the initial installation, you can call APEC Customer Service and they will help you. The old filters were gross, but that just goes to show how effective they are. I included a photo of the old one right after I deleted it. I think there must be a lot of rust in our water! It's a good idea to lay down a towel before removing as the water will reach the top of each tank. A little advice from whoever has done this is to change one at a time. That way the whole block doesn't tip over (as long as two of them are in balance). I will give this set of 3 filters 5 stars for their apparent effectiveness in removing contaminants. If you know your tap water is particularly dirty, you can change it after 6 months.
