Review on ๐ŸŽฅ Enhanced Movo/Sevenoak DSLR Shoulder Rig with Automatic Follow Focus and Zoom Control - Optimal Camera Shoulder Mount for DSLR Cameras by Greg Sullivan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost good. But no.

Purchased June 2019 and previous reviews are pretty consistent with my findings. Thumbscrews require a lot of force to screw in tight enough to hold the rails in place for many parts. The baseplate has an up and down adjustment, but try as I might, it is not tightened enough that the baseplate cannot simply drop to its lowest position. The ergonomics of the rig are very good and all parameters can be adjusted. It probably won't fit in the matte box on the front of your camera, so you'll probably need to invest in longer rails if you have any. Most of the rigging, especially the base plate, is so tricky to deal with that I bought a used ProAim shoulder mount which should fit all the parts I love about Movo with a much better camera tripod. Tracking focus and electronic zoom are good, and I taped the remote shutter release to the grip so I can start/stop the camera with both hands on the grips. I shot with it one day and went back to manual controls the next day. With this setup I shot with the Inferno on the rig all day and it worked well as a main shoulder rig. But I had to do without focus and zoom because the shaky base plate made it impossible to set it correctly. I'm hoping that by combining multiple rigs I can get something I'm happy with. For most people on a budget, this isn't a good standalone solution. #Frankenrig
