I've never paid much attention to cotton swabs as they're basically all the same, at least that's what I thought before! There is SO LITTLE COTTON on the tips of the box I received that you can actually feel the entire shape of the wand! You can usually press the tip of the cotton swab and feel most of it halfway down. I have NEVER felt the shape of a stick under cotton! They are better for cleaning while painting or anything where your fingers or a rag is too big. This should NOT be used in the human ear! And I don't think I should expect bad quality because they were cheap. There should be a minimum standard for the amount of cotton on a cotton swab so as not to cause pain.
