Review on Enhanced Chromecast with Google TV Remote Control: Sideclick Universal Attachment by George Hersey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sideclick does it again!

We have Sideclick for our Nvidia Shield and for two Roku boxes that we have at home. When we updated one of our TVs to install Chromecast with Google TV, I knew I would get another one. Now it's interesting to note that the Google TV Chromecast remote can actually control the TV - it can run the standard codes and sense the power and volume. If you only have one TV and that's it, you probably don't need Sideclick. However, we have some strange setups (TVs not controlling the soundbar via HDMI, etc.) where having a few extra buttons that can learn is really important. Also, I'm not exactly sure how complex the Chromecast remote is, for example I don't think it can "learn" on an existing remote if the TV code for your TV isn't found. At least we got it. and it fits perfectly. Highly recommended if you want to control a receiver _and_ a TV or a TV _and_ a soundbar, or even if you just need extra buttons for your TV besides power and volume.
