Review on 🚪 Smart Doorlock Interface: Audiovox FLCAN Multi-Platform Canbus Enabled Solution by Wayne Gilbert

I purchased this and a USB programming updater to use in my 2011 Ford F-150 and encountered a problem during the key programming phase and my car would not start remotely with programmed key. Well apparently this module can only program 1 button 1 time. After many unsuccessful attempts to reprogram my key, I finally gave up and called tech support. Turns out I made a mistake connecting the CAN TX/RX wires to the ignition and therefore my key was not programmed into the unit properly. They had to update their database to allow flashing my device through their website. So the technical support gets 5 stars! As mentioned, this device can only be programmed once, which means you won't be able to take it out of your car and use it in another car in the future. However, you can flash your device with new firmware that fixes bugs or adds new features. The bad news is that I haven't seen any new features for my car since July 2011, although new features have been added to competing units in recent months. It's an all-in-one device, meaning it's able to bypass the transponder and make remote start installation more convenient by including cables for OEM lock/unlock, OEM activation/ Deactivation, speedometer output and foot brake provides. , door controls, hood bolts, trunk bolts, rear window defroster, etc., so you don't have to search the car for the corresponding wires. However, these functions are vehicle-dependent. When I bought it for my F-150, for example, I knew that at the time it could only give me transponder bypass and nothing else. I am preparing to buy this unit again for my wife's 2012 Honda Odyssey, only this time it not only offers transponder bypass but also the rest of the features previously described and more. Make sure you research all competing devices before you buy to make sure you're getting something that suits your needs. For what this device can do, it probably deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately I can only give my car 4 stars. I will provide an update when I install it on our new Odyssey. UPDATE 4/25/13: I installed this unit on my wife's 2012 Odyssey and it is programmed flawlessly and has many features. This saved me hundreds of dollars by being able to install my own remote start/security system. It has also saved me countless hours and a lot of hassle by giving me access to many of my cars' functions instead of having to search for and connect lots of car wires. I would like to increase my rating to 5.
