I am a former costume designer and tailor, so know two useful solutions for the natural slippage nature of fringe. First, if you can sew, stitch a narrow zigzag through the fringe band to catch the fringe so it won’t slip. Work in small sections, letting it soak in and dry for about 5 minutes before moving to the next section. After securing the fringe, hang on dress hanger for at least a day, after which can carefully snip uneven fringe strands.To prevent bead mishaps when wearing to danceor special events, I take a travel sewing case with match threads, wound around embroidery bobbins, a needle, a few pins, small safety pins, and notions. That being said, you can avoid bead mishaps by ordering the correct size for a looser fit to allow beading threads to stretch when sitting or bending. Sitting in uncovered folding metal chairs can snag fabrics and especially beads. I take a soft shawl with me to not only wear, but cover the chair and prevent snagging.This dress slips easily over the head, dipping into a V in front and back.
