Very good helmet

I've been welding since I've been in the mud and auto-darkening welding helmets are a godsend. The cheap ones have a narrow slit that you try to see (and this ignores activation time etc). This type of helmet represents the next generation of helmets we need for this type of work (I'm retired though). My brother was welding next to me while I was adjusting something and the sidebar on the left obscured what he was welding and I could still see what I was adjusting (and if I moved the other side without more than looking) . All-round visibility when welding and especially when fitting – the future belongs to helmets. This helmet has only ONE downside; The darkness control is on the inside (right where your nose is) and you can't adjust the darkness without putting your hand in the helmet while welding. Other brands have this adjustment on the left side where your ear is, and it's a large button that's easy to grab, making it easy to adjust when welding with gloves. The pros are that the helmet is light and the shoulder straps are really good (maybe a bit small but work) and the vision (square field of view) is just great for mockups/trying on. If you're a pro then you need this helmet (you just don't know it yet). If you're a part-time welder, and even more so if you do assembly work, you should really consider this helmet.

  • Headgear
Cons
  • Very expensive
