Review on Shock Absorbing Heavy Duty Bungee Leash for Large and Medium Dogs - Anti-Pull, Reflective, No-Slip Outdoor Leash by Katie Jones

I ordered this leash to replace our old one which is looking tatty. Living downtown, I often need to keep my dog on a short leash (crossing the street/making him look "cool"/walking past horny dogs, etc.), so I took a closer look at a leash with a handle. Unfortunately, this product does not work for us. For our needs, this product has a few design flaws that I can't ignore. The first problem I encountered is that the line is actually two separate lines. Not sure how I missed this before ordering. The two parts are connected by a very strong interlock. I would never walk my dog with just the short end because then the handle would only be right on his neck. As an absolutely insane dog mom, I worry about literally every possible situation that might happen and one of those thoughts was how my dog might become detached from the other end of the leash. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING but I only have one thought in my head so it stuck. (I RECOGNIZE THIS IS A CRAZY THOUGHT!) The other problem is that the two pieces interlock and hit my dog on the back knee. I'm sure it would be a little frustrating if you hit the metal buckle while walking, but the main issue is that my dog had hind leg surgery and didn't need the extra weight. It doesn't hurt, but it's not cool. I'm so sad that this product didn't suit us because it's made of VERY HIGH QUALITY materials and seems to be very durable. The blue is very pretty and looked great, but that's not enough for me to keep. I will not be returning this product but will be donating it to an animal shelter. It might be great for another family but not for us. I hope there will be some changes to this design in the future - I would definitely try again.
