The iPhone app is buggy but you don't need it, it's 360°, remember the camera position and shoot. I shoot day and night with my Insta360 Nano because it can shoot day and night. The Fusion software running on a 2010 Mac Pro 5.1 still produces nearly 100 clips consistently. My Mac Pro is Intel's base model cheese grater with 24GB of RAM and a Sapphire 580 8GB GPU. Render time is approximately 11 minutes for a 1 minute 5.2k Cineform render. I have DaVinci Resolve Studio 15 (paid for, the Resolve dongle can be bought cheaply at the auction). Cineform 5.2k files play back a bit choppy when edited, but this is not an issue for editing. I've never owned a GoPro, I've always preferred Sony action cameras. I have to say this is a great 360 VR camera. It's more of a professional workflow camera, if you just want to quickly capture 360 video or photos then get the Insta360 Nano S. If you're looking for more then get the Fusion. The only downside is that the clay picks up even a slight breeze and one side has a more prominent seam line than the other. Regarding the picture, this one looks beautiful.
