Light, Hot!: Brazing & Soldering Equipment

This product really needs a more helpful review, so I'll start now and update the review if I have more thoughts. this thing is getting hot! Too bad they don't state how hot it is in the description (not what I found). Only performance is shown. Two temperatures are indicated on the pistol: 572 and 1000 degrees. Hotter than I need but wanted an inexpensive heat gun primarily for shrinking tubing. I just didn't expect it to be that hot. During use, the case remains completely cold. The gun only weighs 1 pound not counting the cord - I weighed it on a delicate postal scale. The cable weighs 1.4 pounds. Pretty light and handy. The heat gun can lie on your back and balance with the handle. The air intake is on the sides and the back is unvented, allowing for safe working in this position. The switch stays in whatever position you set it to, and a lower temperature also has a lower fan speed. The cable is not grounded, which is normal as the case is made of plastic. All nozzle accessories shown are included with instructions. The build quality is okay, although not as outstanding as the Porter Cable. It's durable and easy to use even if the label sticker doesn't quite match. As you would expect, some smoke comes out after the first use. Don't worry - it's a heat gun! So far I would recommend this inexpensive and simple heat gun.
